Event Feedback KL08

 

 

BNI KL08 offered education, motivation and sensation in equal measure. I wasn’t sure whether to or not to go to the conference due to the time it would take out of my business, but I’m now really glad I went. KL08 turned out to be an exciting opportunity to meet with serious business people from around the world, particularly those from various Asian countries, and surpassed all of my expectations. For those looking to expand into, or simply explore, the emerging Asian markets, and make face-to-face contact with globally-minded entrepreneurs, there is no better place to do it than the BNI conference in Kuala Lumpur. Smiles in abundance, food in abundance, and most of all networking in abundance in an English speaking and forward thinking country. I highly recommend this event to anyone who is thinking of going to KL10.

With planes and BNI members departing to points all over the world, it was time to reflecton the past 5 days -

 

Did I learn anything - yes
Did I make any contacts - with over 120 cards in my suitcase - yes
Will any of them lead to work - who knows it is early days
Does that matter - not really, but it would be nice
Was it good to re-kindle old relationships & make new friends - you bet ya
Was I able to distribute the CD's - oh yes, all of them
Was it worth it - without doubt
Would I do it again - try and stop me
Is my judgement clouded by too lttle sleep - absolutely NOT! But I could do with a few days holiday!

What of the conference - some presentations are inevitably better than others, but that said, the standard was very high and I doubt that any 1st time attendees would leave with anything other than a wealth of new ideas and information to share with their chapter - except of course the Mumbai chapter all of whom were there!

The post-conference dinner was very good - I was on a table of 10, all of whom were in KL chapters. They were all very hospitable, and their concern over everthing I was eating, especially the quantity of chilli I was using was amusing!

Traditional dance, drumming and magic was topped off with a Lion Dance - quite spectular.

The whole KL08 team are to be congratulated for their tireless energy and patience - their efforts allowed delegates from some 24 countries to experience the conference in an enviroment of near perfect harmony.

It would be wrong to single out any one person from the team for additional praise, so am sorry Tim, I had better not!

Being at KL08 for the BNI International Directors Conference allowed me to connect with new partners to promote my Remember the Ice" empowering word choice program---internationally!!!  I established business in Malaysia in three days.  WOW, what a phenomenal opportunity.  Thank you Avril and Robert and all of BNI Malaysia for hosting an extraordinary event.  I will always make plans to be at the International meeting.

It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful event. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank you for allowing me to speak on the Directors day.

I would also like to add that Tim Kidd worked so hard along with the rest team to make an event like this not just happen but go so smoothly, having organized events and not of this scale I know how much work it takes so well done Tim and his team. Thanks to Ian Morgan also for showing me the sights of KL.
